Arbor Mindstate Longboard Review

Arbor Mindstate Longboard

The arbor koa mindstate longboard is from the flex series of arbor boards. It is 38 inches long and 8.75 inches wide with a 26.25 inch wheelbase which is a little shorter than the fish longboards. The shorter wheelbase along with the flex in the deck allow for harder smoother carving turns. The flex series of boards will have more of a surf feel when riding. The deck has a top layer of koa wood with 4 plys of reinforced fiber-glass hardrock maple. The top is finished with clear re-grip.

The best way to set up the mindstate is with 9 inch gullwing charger trucks, I prefer the all black color on them. I would recommend some orangatang 70mm 4 prez wheels in the orange color as they are a very good wheel that will allow you to get the most out of the arbor mindstate. I would recommend nothing less than some abec 7 bearings for a fast smooth ride.

Arbor Longboards

Arbor Longboards have been making high quality longboard skateboards for several years. They are probably known more for their snowboards but their longboard selection is growing each year and becoming very popular in the industry. They have several styles of longboards to choose from; carvers, flex, street, mini, and cruiser series. They are highly known for their bamboo and koa wood longboards. The koa wood is unique to just arbor as they are the only longboard company currently making boards with a top layer of this beautiful colored wood that varies on every single board making your longboard unique from anyone else.

The carver series is made of 3 different styles of arbor longboards. It consists of the pin, fish, and slater models. The Pin and Fish models both come with your choice of bamboo wood or koa wood with different bottom graphics. The Slater longboard comes only in the unique hawaiian koa wood. These longboards are all made to carve and have pintail shapes with a stiff deck to allow for hard responsive carving.

The arbor flex series of longboards consist of 2 longboards, the Mindstate and Waterman. Both of these longboards are made with koa wood top layers. They are pressed with thin layers of hard rock maple with layers of fiber-glass to reinforce the decks strength while still allowing a nice flex. They are both carver inspired longboards which create smooth flowing turns with the flexible decks.

The arbor street series is just what it implies. They are hybrid longboards that are great for street skating as well as cruising around town. They have 2 different models that each offer your choice of bamboo wood or koa wood. They hybrid and bug are the two street series longboards that are highly popular. They have a nice kicktail and old school shape to them that allows you maneuver and also olly and skate like you would a street skateboard.

The mini series is made up of the pocket rocket in koa or bamboo wood and also the newer model called the sizzler that comes just in the koa wood. These are great little cruisers that can get you around fast and smooth just like a longboard but turn even sharper as they have really short wheelbases that allow you to turn on a dime.

The arbor roller / cruiser series has 4 different arbor longboards; the cross step, fleetwood, blunt and the oso. These are all great cruiser styled longboards with nice fat wheels and super sturdy longboard decks that make for smooth fast riding. They are the ultimate commuter boards to get you around town very quickly!
